Dear Fellow RVSD Parents;

We are reaching out to urge you to consider serving on the YES Foundation’s board next year or in the future. We know our community’s many talented and experienced individuals have much to offer YES and its ultimate constituency: our children.

Every year, YES offers more programs for more students. Last year, we added much needed funding for a technology coach and expanded White Hill’s music program to accommodate growing numbers of young musicians. To support newly added grades at Brookside and Hidden Valley, YES helped both schools with funding to significantly expand their library book collections. For 2013-14, a new production rounds out YES Theater’s slate of seven full-scale dramatic and musical productions. YES also continues to provide weekly elementary art and music classes—as well as poetry instruction, assemblies and a range of middle school activities—for an expanding student enrollment.

As YES programs grow, the foundation continues to need strong, volunteer leadership. Below is a list of current board positions, some of which will be open in the 2014-15 year. (For brief descriptions of these positions, go to http://yestokids.org/position-descriptions/.) We are asking any interested parents to take a moment to review this list and then contact one of us at the emails below, or the foundation’s managing director Julie Quater at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. If you have an interest in any board position, whether for next year or any future year, or just want to learn more, we want to hear from you.

YES also has an immediate need to add a non-board parent member to our new nominating committee. We formed this committee to match board nominee skills with foundation needs and ensure well-rounded, competent leadership for everything from finances to fundraising to future planning. Please contact us if you are interested in serving on the nominating committee and would like additional information.

We believe strongly in the importance and impact that all YES programs provide for our district’s students. We hope you will consider joining us in guiding the foundation’s important contribution to our children’s well-being, education and personal success now and into the future. We would appreciate you contacting us by February 28. Thank you for everything you do for YES, including your time and donations.

Sincerely,

Danielle Fogel
