Cartooning and Comics Club with Super Steve Fridays at Lunch, Room 202
Comic Book Club is about to begin its 4th semester at White Hill! So far we have covered many topics and literary devices. My goal for this club is to broaden the understanding of Literature through the medium of Comics. This may sound heavy, but it is actually very fun and easy to follow. There will be some suggested reading for the club members such as Larry Marder's Beanworld, in which we follow our heroes Beanish and Mr. Spook through their unique world which develops into a very complex eco system with many checks and balances. We will also be reading from Asterix the Gaul by Rene Goscinny and Albert Uderzo, In this story we will follow a nearly invincible and brave little Gaul who fights the cruel Roman Empire and makes sure that they do not take his tiny country under their rule. These books will be available to order in the first two weeks of club and then after they are available from Blue Moon Comics in San Rafael. I look forward to seeing this new group this semester! - Super Steve
