The District Office has announced the appointment of Whitney Hoyt as assistant principal for White Hill Middle School for the 2013-14 school year. Ms. Hoyt comes to White Hill with more than 20 years of experience as a teacher, counselor and administrator at Marin public schools.

During this past year, Ms. Hoyt was the educational director for Bridge the Gap College Prep in Marin City, a non-profit after-school and evening tutoring program that serves 180 kids.

“Through all of my years in education, I have committed myself to creating equal opportunities for every student.  My passion for closing the achievement gap drives me each and every day,’’ said Ms. Hoyt. “But I missed working at a school site and I’m very excited to join White Hill and be back on a school campus again.”

“Ms. Hoyt is smart, engaging, and student focused,” said White Hill Principal David Finnane. “She was extremely impressive during the interview process and was the unanimous choice by both interview panels.”
