RVSD Special Education Instructional Programs offer a full range of services to meet the needs of students with several different disabilities.
Students may receive specialized instruction from the resource specialist within the general education classroom or in the resource classroom in specific skills. Students may receive support up to 50% of the day and benefit from some general education instruction. There are resource programs on all District campus’.
These classes are district programs and are not located at all schools. The student will receive intensive specialized instruction and services. more than 50% of the day using alternative materials for English language Arts and Mathematics. Many students will have participation in general education in some content areas with accommodations and/or modifications when feasible and in non academic activities such as art, music, physical education, library, recess, lunch and other social activities
These are regional programs and services for students with special needs and are located at various school sites throughout the county. RVSD partners with MCOE to provide services for students when they do not have the resources to provide services within the District.
These services are determined by the IEP team. These services are supplemental services that are necessary for a student to benefit from their special education program. These services may include but are not limited to the following:
These services are recommended by the IEP team for students with special needs who require specialized instruction to maintain skills in excess of the school year. Without these services the students would experience significant regression.
