Dear White Hill Families,
I hope you had a chance to attend YesFest yesterday! What an amazing display of student and staff work - all made possible through the committment of our volunteer Yes board and our amazing YesFest chairs. Thanks to everyone for supporting the arts in our schools - it makes such a difference for our children!
Have a great week!
David
The White Hill Parent Club supports parent education for our school community and we are pleased to announce that we have arranged for a Michael Grogan, a highly regarded speaker on teens, sexting, to come to White Hill next Wednesday evening, May 21st, from 7 to 8:30 pm. Please consider joining us – this is an adult event!
The evening will consist of watching the movie, Irreversible Consequences, and then hold a Q&A session with Michael Grogan who is Project Director of the Jeannette Prandi Children’s Center. Our goal is to educate our parent community with regard to sexting and how we can take steps to keep our kids safe.
As a follow up to the parent meeting, Mr. Grogan will return to White Hill to work with all of our 8th-grade students on June 2nd. The topic for the student meetings will be sexting and the damage that done when photos are sent that can't be erased or 'unsent'. The student presentations are for 8th graders only because the Prandi Center feels that the movie content is best suited for students in 8th grade.
We look forward to this meaningful educational evening and hope to see you on May 21st. The meeting will take place in Room 414 of the new 8th grade building (2nd floor of the building farthest from the parking lot).
