Dear White Hill Community,
Our 8th Grade Civil War Day was a resounding success as our main quad was transformed into a real life historical experience for our students and staff. Marching, speeches, monologues…history came alive at White Hill and what an important time in our country’s history. Big thanks to our staff, students, and parents for helping make the day so successful.
Reminder: Testing starts Monday. Thanks for supporting your child in doing his/her best!
Here’s a great weekend – stay cool out there!
Please do your best to have your kids at school on time and well rested. We’d prefer that be the case every day but it’s especially important during these two weeks so we can start and end our testing on time. Testing is one measure of how our kids are progressing in school and our hope is they will relax, do their best, and just see it as a part of school. No pressure. No high stakes. Just a snapshot of how they are doing. Thank you for your support.
Children for Change is hosting its 2nd annual C4C Challenge on Sunday, May 21 from 8am - 12pm. The C4C Challenge includes a beautiful hike up Bald Hill followed by a festive celebration complete with music and raffle. The Challenge will bring our Ross Valley community together behind a common cause - giving our kids the tools and opportunities with which they can DO GOOD!
All funds raised will go to Children for Change (www.children4change.org) and the non-profit organizations it supports such as Downtown Streets, St. Vinnies and Cedars of Marin. If you are looking for something FUN to do with your kids that feels purposeful, come climb with us on the morning of May 21st!
Have a busy weekend? Don’t fret! The climb only takes about an hour, so you’ll be done early enough to get onto the other 900 things you have going on! :-)
Can’t make the Climb? You can also show your support by making a straight donation or by buying raffle tickets!
Visitwww.children4change.comto register, donate or buy raffle tickets.
$20/ticket - includes t-shirt, raffle ticket and after-climb celebration!
Climb For A Cause!
Our kids did really well at the County Champs Meet last Friday. They competed hard and exemplified great sportsmanship before, during, and after their events. I am so very proud of how they represented White Hill, and they should be proud of themselves. The team walked away with (4) 1st place Relay trophies, (20) 1st place medals, (9) 2nd place ribbons, (12) 3rd place ribbons, (11) 4th place ribbons, and (2) 5th place ribbons. A picture of the team’s hardware is viewable on the link below!
Congrats and thanks to all our volunteer coaches and parents/guardians who made this season possible.

The White Hill Wildcats Golf Team began the season with 8 students with varying levels of interest and finished the season with 8 skilled athletes eager to win their next match.
The incessant rains dashed virtually all hope of meaningful pre-season practice and turned the early rounds in March and April into muddy slogs. Nevertheless, we practiced when we could, at the McInnis driving range and the San Geronimo golf course. Our goal this year was team-building since only two players will be graduating out of White Hill this year, and we succeeded. Each and every player’s skills, understanding of strategy, and scores improved throughout the season; for most, to a remarkable degree. Next year? We welcome anyone who wants to take their game to a higher level. Girls should take special note that brains and a good golf swing produce far greater results on the course than mere muscle power.
