Dear White Hill Community,

 

Week #2 has been a repeat of week #1 with thoughtful and respectful students at every turn – we’ve had a great start to the year!  I hope your child has settled in nicely and if he/she needs any sort of support please do not hesitate to reach out to his/her teachers or our office staff for assistance.  Don’t forget – Back To School Night is this coming Thursday from 6:30 – 8:30 pm.  We’ll meet in the Quad as a full school community at 6:30 sharp and then dismiss you to your child’s classrooms to hear from each teacher.  Remember to bring a copy of your child’s schedule with you to back to school night.  Don’t forget!  Take a picture of the schedule so you have it handy next Thursday.  Also, parking will be very difficult.  Please carpool or bike/walk if at all possible and please be respectful of our neighbors driveways, reserved spots, and landscaping.  Plan to come early so you can get up to the school on time.  Have a great 3 day weekend!  Regular Tuesday schedule when we return!

Please Start This Tuesday After Labor Day!  Please pack food items in reusable containers instead of zip lock baggies or otherwise and please avoid sending your child to school with a plastic water bottle.  Please help us reduce our waste at White Hill.  Reusable water bottles and reusable containers will do the trick!  Also, please write your child’s name on everything - first initial last name (ie: D. Baker) would work great.  Then we can return any misplaced items to your child!  Thanks for helping us do our share in this important area.  

 

 

 

International Walk to School Day (iWalk) is on Wednesday, Oct. 5th. Can you spare 30 minutes before school that day to hand out goodies to all the walkers, bikers, and skateboarders?  It's a pretty fun job!  Please emailThis email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you can help. Also, please encourage your child to walk, bike, or skateboard to school every day and especially on Oct. 5th.  

 

 

 

Let's keep running simple:

 

Practice every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-5 on the White Hill field and in the hills around Loma Alta.  Runners are welcome to come to both practices (recommended) but may come to the minimum of one a week if XC practice conflicts with another commitment.

 

XC is all about having fun while we run!  During practice we will run between 2-5 miles, with lots of games and activities mixed in.  

 

3 XC meets in late September and October in Marin County.  Meets take place during the week after school.

 

Runners of all abilities encouraged.  There is a place for everyone on the team.

6:30-8:00 pm on Thursday, September 22nd in the White Hill Library.
