Dear White Hill Community,

Thanks to all of you that could make it to our Open House last night. Wow, was this place filled with lots of positive energy. I am always so proud of our staff, kids, and community when we come together to acknowledge what it takes to create a progressive and thoughtful middle school experience. And, added to everything else, the campus looked especially beautiful at dusk.

Have a great weekend. 6:59 pm tonight - Badgers vs Florida. It just keeps getting better. On Wisconsin!

White Hill Basketball Update – Playoff Results!

Congratulations to the 6th and 7th grade boys on winning the Championship and to the 7th and 8th grade girls who placed 2nd . Congratulations to all White Hill teams on a great basketball season! Also a big thank you goes out to our coaches, Zach Wahle (6th grade girls), Jay DeMaestri (6th grade boys). Eileen Burke(7th grade girls), Steve Gallagher (7th grade boys), Brain Hogan (8th grade girls), Stewart Perrilliat and Henry Mims (8th grade boys) for their time, passion, and commitment to their teams. We could not do it without you!

Thank you to all White Hill basketball players for their hard work this season and to our entire community for supporting the YES Foundation which funds all sports at White Hill.

White Hill Band Information! – Congratulations!

Congratulations to White Hill Jazz Band 1 for scoring a Unanimous Superior and earning a Command Performance Plaque at the Santa Cruz Jazz Festival this past weekend - the highest honor awarded at this highly regarded festival. Soloists recognized for excellence with a certificate include Owen Foltz (Trumpet) and Franco Munoz-McCue (Baritone Sax). Big Congrats to our Band Director, Rebecca d’Alessio, for making it all come together.

Some comments from the adjudicators:
"Bright Brass, I like that a lot. Rhythm section is doing a really nice job. The drummer has a nice, relaxed groove-feel. The drums and bass are working together seamlessly. The band sounds really good, really good charts. That last tune was awesome. I like the dynamics. Nice sound. You did nice! Nice sound, saxophones. So many good things going on with this group. You are obviously getting first-rate teaching from your director, there is no doubt about that. Nice dynamic drop. Nice staccato. I love the energy and time-feel. Very nicely done. You guys have great energy. A lot of talent, and your director is full of energy. I hope you have a good high school program to matriculate into."

Congratulations to Maya Stock - First chair in the California All-State Concert Band, Winner in the Marin Music Chest Competition, and recently selected by nomination and audition for the Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall in June!

White Hill Symphonic Band and Jazz 1 Performance This Weekend!

Are excited to perform in collaboration with Stapleton School of the Performing Arts March 25th and 26th!

The Stapleton Ballet Youth Company Spring Concert will feature the White Hill Band in seven dance numbers in Act 2 of the show.

There is a quintet of Big-Band tunes by top composers George Gershwin, Louis Prima and Glenn Miller, with original choreography by Cynthia Anne Stanley. The entire show is under two hours in length and there will be many Wildcats on stage dancing (in addition to the orchestra pit!) There are two performances: Saturday March 25 at 7:00 pm and Sunday March 26 at 1:00 pm, at the James Dunn Theatre at the College of Marin. All seating is general.
