Dear White Hill Community,
Spring break is upon us! Have a great week away from school and we'll look forward to seeing your kids back at White Hill on April 18th. This is always my favorite time of the year as we really begin to see the outcome of our work with the kids and everyone seems a little lighter on their feet in May. It's a busy month for sure but who doesn't get excited about what the pending summer vacation has in store for them - it's most every kid's most exciting time of the year.
Have a safe break and here is some other important news:
Congrats to our 8th grade students and thanks to our 8th grade staff, office staff, and parents for helping our trip to the FFax Theater today to see Selma go off without a hitch! This movie is so powerful and what a fantastic tie in to our 8th grade Civil Rights unit. The kids walked to and from the theater and the day couldn’t have gone more smoothly.
Big props to our 7th grade students, staff, and parents for helping make our community service day, today, go so well. We had students spread out all over Marin and San Francisco serving others in one capacity or another. Different projects included work at the Milo Foundation, Marin Humane Society, Glide Memorial Church, Stinson Beach, Samuel P. Taylor Park, Windchime of Marin, and our local RVSD elementary schools, among others. Such an important day for our kids!
Come one, come all!

Congratulations to White Hill's Intermediate and Advanced Orchestras and Symphonic Band, who performed at the California Music Educators Association band and orchestra festival in El Cerrito on Saturday, April 2. The 6th Grade Orchestra played well despite the pressure of their first competitive festival, and received positive feedback from the adjudicators. The 7th and 8th Grade Orchestra also performed strongly and were rated "Excellent" overall. The Symphonic Band earned their first "Superior" rating for sight reading - excellent achievement! Congratulations to all students who took part, and thank you for being wonderful ambassadors for the White Hill music program!
