Division of State Architect (DSA) approval of the plans was received in July, 2012. Plant Construction was given the notice to proceed on June 08, 2012 and started construction on June 11, 2012. Since the start of construction, the renovations to the 100 & 300 Building are complete and being enjoyed by the students this school year. 13 temporary portable classrooms were installed to provide necessary teaching space during the construction of the new 7th and 8th grade Buildings. Because the temporary classrooms were located on the existing basketball courts, new courts were installed near the sports fields. Site and Hex-Plex classrooms demolition was completed very quickly. The earthwork started immediately after the demolition work was complete, and concrete for the footings and foundations was placed in October. This was a major milestone in the construction schedule. Steel for the 7th & 8th grade buildings started arriving and being erected in early December, 2012. The steel for both buildings is in place, marking another major milestone. The steel is the structural support for the buildings, and provides a visible and tangible representation of the new buildings.
