About Our Library
The Wade Thomas Library is open to all students—and parents, too! Each class has a scheduled weekly Library Time that includes a read-aloud story time. Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades have fun learning about the Library and can check out books of their choosing throughout the year! Students from 3rd, 4th and 5th grades can check out books and they also learn library skills such as how to find books using the library catalog and conducting research. These skills will help them to be successful students even after they graduate from Wade Thomas. We also have a computer lab with 24 computers where 3rd- through 5th-graders learn about computers and technology with their teachers.
Our book collection includes over 10,000 volumes and we are always adding more to make sure students have the resources they need. The Birthday Book Club, which is run by the Wade Thomas Parents Association, is a fun way to help the library and celebrate a student’s birthday.

Students can visit the library before school, during recess and during lunch. Students accompanied by an adult may visit the library after school until library closing.

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year at Wade Thomas School! Our school is a caring, respectful, and loving place with a reputation for academic excellence. This year, our school is focusing on intergration of technology in the classroom, continuing our implementation of the Toolbox social emotional learning curriculum and aligning our instruction to the new Common Core Standards. The TK preview night for parents to learn about the Transitional Kindergarten program and registration for the 2019-20 school year will be held on Thursday, January 31st from 6:30-7:30pm in the Brookside School Library.
