We are very excited to share our very first District video, “RVSD – A Beautiful Magical Place to Be” which is now available for viewing on YouTube. In this short film, teachers, administrators and students share their reflection on what makes RVSD special to them. Inspired and created by two RVSD parents, Nancy Main and Jennifer Gonzalez, this video captures the essence and joy of teaching and learning in the Ross Valley School District!
]]>On behalf of all RVSD staff, I want to let you know how excited we are that you have chosen Ross Valley for your child/ren’s education. We are very excited for the new school year and are thrilled to have you back with us and to have all our new families join the RVSD Community! We hope the 2018-19 school year is off to a great start for you and your student/s, and we are looking forward to a fantastic year of growth, learning, and, of course, fun!
Some Back-to-School forms are on SchoolMint, our online student enrollment system. Other information and forms are sent home via backpack-mail during the first week of school and are also available here on our district back-to-school webpage. If you do not have printer access, either drop by your child’s school office to pick up copies or ask that they be sent to you. Please complete and submit all required and applicable forms as soon as possible but no later than Friday, September 21, 2018.
To complete the Back-to-School forms on SchoolMint, log in to your account at http://rvsd.schoolmint.net. If you have forgotten your username or password, follow the instructions on the “Forgot Username” and/or “Forgot Password” links. Once you have logged in, click the green “Start” button for each child who is returning to an RVSD school. You do not need to complete the forms in one sitting. Once you submit the forms, you will no longer be able to access them. If you realize you need to make a correction, please contact the school office.
The following items are provided to students during the first week of school, and they are also available here.
Please review the items below and complete and submit the applicable forms to your child’s school office.
All volunteers must submit within 30 days of volunteering a “Volunteer Application” along with written verification from a healthcare provider of negative tuberculosis within the last 4 years (i.e. skin test or Risk Assessment Questionnaire). If in doubt as to whether your participation in our schools constitutes volunteering, please check with your child’s school’s principal and/or administrative assistant. Note that additional requirements apply to those who will be volunteering as field trip drivers and/or chaperones on overnight field trips.
Family members may volunteer at a student’s school. For anyone other than a student’s family member who wishes to volunteer, please contact the applicable school office to learn more about the required procedures. We encourage all persons to submit the paperwork at the beginning of the school year, even if you are unsure you will volunteer, to ensure there will not be any confusion or delay at the time of the event.
In addition to the Volunteer Application and TB clearance, the Field Trip Driver form and a copy of the auto insurance policy declaration page for each vehicle to be driven on field trips are also required for any parent/guardian driving on a district school event, including if only driving your own child.
We encourage all persons to submit the paperwork at the beginning of the school year, even if you are unsure you will drive on a school-sponsored activity, to ensure there will not be any confusion or delay at the time of the event.
This form is required only if you wish to be notified before a pesticide is applied at your child’s school.
This form is required only if your student needs to have medication administered while at school.
This information and application are required only if you wish to apply for insurance. Note: The District does not assume responsibility for medical treatment (ambulance transport, surgery, hospitalization, etc.).
Mail the completed application directly to the insurance company (see application for mailing address). Do not return it to your child’s school office.
If you have any questions or do not have the ability to access SchoolMint or print the required forms, please contact your child’s school or Marci Trahan, Assistant Superintendent at 415-451-4064 or mtrahan@rossvalleyschools.org.

Welcome to the Ross Valley School District! We are pleased you have chosen Ross Valley to provide your child/ren’s education.
If you have a child currently attending school in the Ross Valley School District, there is no need to re-register him/her. Only students who are not currently attending a school in the District are required to register.
School Offices are open Monday through Friday (except holidays) from 8:00am-4: 00 pm through Friday, June 21, 2019.
Because office staff may be attending meetings, please contact the school office to ensure someone will be there to assist you.
For the 2019-20 school year, a child must have his/her 5th birthday on or before September 1, 2019, to be eligible to attend Kindergarten.
Students currently attending Transitional Kindergarten in Ross Valley do not need to re-register.
Preview Nights will be held at each elementary school site. Preview Night is an informational evening designed for parents/guardians (no children, please) to learn about the Kindergarten program and to get an overview of the total school program. We look forward to seeing you there!

For the 2019-20 school year, a child must have his/her 5th birthday between September 2 and December 2, 2019, to be eligible to attend Transitional Kindergarten.
Information on Transitional Kindergarten will be presented at a Preview Night scheduled on Thursday, January 31, 2019, from 6:30-7: 30 pm in the Brookside School Library. The TK program is still under development for the 2019-20 school year; program implementation (including location/s) will depend on the number of students who enroll. Completing registration will give us a way to contact you as we determine program implementation.
Our registration process includes online as well as hard copy and in-person components.
In continuing our efforts to reduce paper consumption and to be service oriented and efficient, we use SchoolMint, an online enrollment system. SchoolMint helps to reduce the time parents/guardians spend completing required school forms for one or more children and can be accessed via a computer or smartphone. For parents/guardians who do not have computer, online, or smartphone access, technology is available at the school sites. Because not all required registration items can be provided via SchoolMint, some of the registration process will continue to be required via hard copy and in person at the student’s school of residence. For parents/guardians who do not have printer access, hard copies are available at the school sites.
To assist the District in enrollment, staffing, and facilities planning, please complete the registration process by March 1 or as soon as possible. Because many elementary grade levels and schools in the Ross Valley School District are impacted, if more students register at their school of residence than can be accommodated, even if by March 1, students may be assigned to another district school where space is available. Any reassignments will be determined prior to the student’s first day of attendance.
Online Registration begins Friday, January 25, 2019, and In-Person Registration begins Monday, February 4, 2019. We do not accept registration items via fax, mail, or email. Please note that only completed registration packets are accepted and each is date/time stamped. A completed registration packet includes the online Student Registration Forms on SchoolMint and the In-Person Forms and Documentation.
